Frequently Asked Questions
| Q |
I was keen to know that if I applied phantom power to one of your
ribbon microphones, would I damage it? |
| A |
We recommend not using phantom power on our ribbon microphones because
if there is a fault on the cabling (i.e. 48v on one leg only), it
will pass through the transformer and damage the ribbon. If the 48v
is on both legs, it should cancel out and will not harm the ribbon.
So in order to avoid a possible costly accident, we urge you to turn
the phantom power off first. If you require more information, please
do not hesitate to contact us. |
